Kari was born and raised here in Glendive. After graduating from high school, she ventured out of Glendive for a  couple of years, only to return to her roots in Glendive.
In March of 1988 Kari married Scott and then began raising their family. Scott and Kari have three grown children, Stacy, Shawn and Danielle. "We started attending Glendive Evangelical Church in about 1990 and have been very blessed to find such a wonderful church family. I began teaching Sunday school in 1998 teaching the kindgarten level. I now teach 5th and 6th grades and I must admit, there have been some Sundays when I have said, I am done after this year, but I cannot argue with God. I feel a calling to teach this age group, they do push your buttons some weeks, but the postitive things far outweigh the negative!"
Kari's favorite scripture verse is Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. "Having three children and now a grandson, I have learned to put them in God's hands, He is in control, not me. I have faith that God has a plan for all of us and I cannot control what happens to my children, they belong to God.
Kari's first autombile was a 1976 Ford LTD, "it had no reverse and did get me in a few predicatments, in which I did rely on my dad to get me out of since he gave me the car!" (smiles, thanks dad)
Favorite flavor of ice cream? "I have several of those but since becoming allergic to nuts in the last 10 years, I am deprived. So my new favorite is either Cookie Dough or Vanilla with Sunbutter and semi sweet chocolate chips on top! Can you say YUMMY!!"
Kari's favorite meal is chicken breast with tomato basil sauce and provolone cheese on top, but anything carb oriented is great! Least favorite meal is Liver and onions, that is not even edible!
Kari has a few hobbies, which include lifting weights, walking, biking, reading, fly fishing and just being with her husband, kids and 3 year old grandson Koby.
Her favorite season is any of them besides winter; "I could easily live where it does not get below 40 degrees."
"I know God has plans for all of us and I hope I am living out His plan and not just my own."
Pastor Bruce was born and raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania. "Upon graduating from West Chester Christian School (1995) in Pennsylvania, I was slated to attend a university to become a forest ranger. But I felt the need to know my Bible a little better before heading off to college. Then I found this out-of-the-way, intensive 1-year college Bible program in August, MT called Montana Wilderness School of the Bible. And being an outdoorsman, the program sounded right up my alley. So I enrolled into MWSB. That year, God drastically turned my life around and I sensed a burden on my heart to follow Himinto full time ministry. I met Christy at MWSB and since then, God developed with us a love for the people here in Montana and a desire to live out west. Since moving from Pennsylvatnia at age 17, we have lived in Montana.
The first time Bruce felt the calling by God into the ministry was when he was in high school, after being asked to lead the youth group in directing the Sunday evening service. "In college, during many ministry assignments, I felt a great burden on my soul to proclaim the Truth to the world. I experienced a joy in proclaiming the gospel and I soon realzied that giving my life to ministry was God's will. After college, I was an intern pastor at Cherry Creek Bible Church in Aurora, CO. We then spent 12 years as solo pastor of Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Plevna, Montana (August 1999 - February 2011). This led us to Glendive ECNA in February of 2011, taking the position of Associate pastor of Christian Education and youth.
In May of 1998 Bruce married Christy and they have three wonderful children, BJ (Bruce Junior) age 12, Paige, age 10 and Ellie Age 6.
When asked why Glendive? Bruce stated, "we really love eastern Montana".
A few fun facts about Pastor Bruce: His first automobile was a 1989 Maroon Eagle Summit.
His favorite meal is pepper steak and steamed rice, least favorite meal? "I like everything - but don't feed me anything orange cream...bleech!"
Pastor Bruce has many hobbies including, fitness, skiing, soccer, ice skating, volleyball, playing with my kids, cooking, coaching, camping and just doing aboslutely anything with his family!
His favorite season is a toss-up between skiing season, camping season and soccer season, "anything but allergy season!"
"We are enjoying working on a team, being active in our church and community and having a lot of fun serving the people of Glendive!"
